Merav Eliyahu

Clinical Psychologist

Mornington

Most people who come to therapy have already tried to work through their difficulties. They’ve thought about it, read about it, and often had previous experience with therapy, yet something doesn’t shift. In many cases, this isn’t because the problem is unclear. It’s because the underlying emotional processes driving it remain outside of awareness, and therefore are not addressed.

I’m Merav Eliyahu, a Clinical Psychologist and ISTDP therapist based in Mornington. I work with adults who are navigating the effects of trauma, complex trauma, depression, anxiety, emotional overwhelm, relationship difficulties, and medically unexplained physical symptoms.

My work focuses on identifying and changing the underlying emotional patterns that drive psychological distress.

Through advanced training in psychodynamic therapy, including three years of specialised training in Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP), I have developed a precise understanding of how these difficulties form and persist. This allows me to actively help you identify and change the underlying patterns driving your distress – supporting not only a reduction in symptoms, but a deeper sense of emotional clarity and stability.

My therapeutic style is active, focused, and deeply attuned. I won’t sit back silently. I will work with you closely to help you notice what’s happening in the moment, understand it, and move through it.

At the same time, I hold a strong respect for your pace and your experience, recognising that your current patterns once served a purpose, even if they are no longer helpful. This is a collaborative process, grounded in safety, honesty, and a genuine commitment to helping you move forward.

I believe that meaningful change is possible, and I see it happening in the therapy room every day.

I offer sessions in-person in Mornington and online, working exclusively with adults aged 25 and over.
